Every stitch, by hand

Sozni is fine needlework whose stitch is laid over a base stitch, giving the embroidery uniformity on both sides of the cloth. Its most dominant motif is the buti: a floral or almond motif with a bent tip.

By needle: No machines. An artisan places every stitch by hand.
Winter wool: In the Gulf, the shal is a woollen cloth worn on the head in winter for warmth.
From Kashmir: Every piece is embroidered by artisans in Kashmir.
